Over the years, I have heard a wide variety of personal meanings for a house or a home. To some, a house is simply a place to live. For others, a house has deep rooted meaning. One of my favorite parts of the real estate journey is learning about the meaning of home for each individual.
Some different viewpoints that I have heard over the years:
- Having a home means safety and security to a mother of a large family.
- After renting for a long time, an individual buys a modest home. She says “it may not be much, but it is mine.”
- Where my family grows together through life
These viewpoints vary greatly based upon each person’s perspective. For most, the home is seen as more than merely a place where we rest our heads. What does home mean to you?
